These poems would blast through me after deep prayer + meditation offering me no choice but to write them down. And one by one, they began to tell stories. Each poem a different teaching and lesson to be learned. This book was given life amidst endings and so this,

is my new beginning.

i never knew you...

and i know you.

you are in my heart,

in my womb,

and in all

my cells,

grandmothers...

grandfathers

mothers

fathers

sisters

brothers

auntys

uncles

cousins

daughters

sons

We Remember.

We Remember You.

We Honor You.

We Love You.

you teach me

on this earth

you teach me

with this sky

you teach me

to face the

East

when the sun

rises

and eagle 

is flying

you teach me

to pray

and sing

and drum

and dance

And Love.

you teach me

to turn

towards the

South

facing coyote

and the southern

hemisphere

then turn again

to the 

West

and face bear

the Sacred Black Hills

and the wild Western 

Coastlines

And one more

time

i turn towards

the North

Standing With Buffalo

and facing

All

Our 

Ancestors

And I Give Thanks, 

We Give Thanks.

Our Ancestors

are praying

for us, and with us

they are

singing for us,

and with us

they are

drumming and dancing

for us, and with us

And they are 

radiating Love 

with us, and through us

We Are Blessed

With

Each Breath

And with

Honor

Reverence

+ Respect

we heal

we grow

we love.

Seeds.

surpassing all

a butterfly
